social responsibility
at the Dutch Cloud Community
Paul Bijleveld - managing director ACC ICT - has chaired the Social Responsibility working group within the Dutch Cloud Community since 2021. The working group has access to a community of more than 10,000 IT professionals. These are specialists with in-depth knowledge of IT management, security, cloud, hosting, disaster recovery, backup and connectivity.
To make this expertise accessible to charities, the working group has created an online counter - nonprofit. Through the counter, charities can register and get the support they need.

Expertise & hosting
From OpenGeo Foundation
Since 2014, we have supported the OpenGeo Foundation by providing our expertise and hosting free of charge for the projects the foundation is working on. OpenGeo promotes the use of open data in the Netherlands with a focus on making and keeping geographic information freely available.
As a Public Benefit Institution (ANBI), the foundation supports various projects in administrative and operational areas. Examples of projects include real-time open data for public transport timetables and geographic walking and cycling maps that are made available to everyone free of charge."
Where we started with the smallest possible own virtual machine in VMware, the service and monitoring of NDOVloket.nl has been extensively automated by ACC ICT. Even in case of incidents, there is a mutual respect for each other's observations, so there is a perspective for action." - Stefan de Konink of OpenGEO
Charity chosen annually
Making an impact together
Every year, ACC ICT selects a charity that we support during the year. We organize various activities to raise money for this charity while creating awareness among our employees about the mission of the charity.

Tjommie
After School Program
We support Tjommie's After School Program to increase opportunities for young people in Limpopo, South Africa. The after school program aims to give young people extra tutoring to increase success rates at school. Good education is the basis for more future prospects for these young people. We support Tjommie in various ways:
- Financial support for the entire After School program
- Organize (sports) activities for additional donations and brand awareness
- With every new colleague and client, we purchase textbook packages for children in the After School Program
We deliberately chose Tjommie's After School Program because we consider personal growth of our employees very important. This program makes it possible to also give young people in Limpopo the opportunity for personal development.
