The Dutch Kubernetes Podcast: LIVE EPISODE #100 | 8-hour live podcast for the Food Bank | June 26 - 09:00 am

Social

Engagement

We support initiatives that make an impact on society. Like plastic fishing, in this photo.

Impact

on society

ACC ICT stands for growing together. Growing with the result of making an impact on our employees, our clients and on society. When supporting a social project, we consider whether it suits us as an organization and is compatible with our DNA and core values. For each project, we consider how we can involve our employees to increase awareness and a sense of 'having an impact'.

social responsibility

at the Dutch Cloud Community

Paul Bijleveld - managing director ACC ICT - has chaired the Social Responsibility working group within the Dutch Cloud Community since 2021. The working group has access to a community of more than 10,000 IT professionals. These are specialists with in-depth knowledge of IT management, security, cloud, hosting, disaster recovery, backup and connectivity.

To make this expertise accessible to charities, the working group has created an online counter - nonprofit. Through the counter, charities can register and get the support they need.

Expertise & hosting

From OpenGeo Foundation

Since 2014, we have supported the OpenGeo Foundation by providing our expertise and hosting free of charge for the projects the foundation is working on. OpenGeo promotes the use of open data in the Netherlands with a focus on making and keeping geographic information freely available.

As a Public Benefit Institution (ANBI), the foundation supports various projects in administrative and operational areas. Examples of projects include real-time open data for public transport timetables and geographic walking and cycling maps that are made available to everyone free of charge."

Where we started with the smallest possible own virtual machine in VMware, the service and monitoring of NDOVloket.nl has been extensively automated by ACC ICT. Even in case of incidents, there is a mutual respect for each other's observations, so there is a perspective for action." - Stefan de Konink of OpenGEO

Charity chosen annually

Making an impact together

Every year, ACC ICT selects a charity that we support during the year. We organize various activities to raise money for this charity while creating awareness among our employees about the mission of the charity.

The Food Bank

Together against poverty and food waste

For 2025, the new charity is the Food Bank to which we are committed. The main activity this year is that with our podcast (The Dutch Kubernetes Podcast) on June 26, we will spend 8 hours recording a podcast recording without eating to bring in as many food packages as possible for the Voedselbank.

100th podcast episode

€9,000 euros raised

We were featured live on YouTube for eight hours with a special podcast broadcast for the Food Bank. During the live stream, we ate nothing and actively collected food packages. Jan and Ronald talked to organizations that donated, and we showed live the number of packages collected shown. The entire proceeds went to charity.

Tjommie

After School Program

We support Tjommie's After School Program to increase opportunities for young people in Limpopo, South Africa. The after school program aims to give young people extra tutoring to increase success rates at school. Good education is the basis for more future prospects for these young people. We support Tjommie in various ways:

We deliberately chose Tjommie's After School Program because we consider personal growth of our employees very important. This program makes it possible to also give young people in Limpopo the opportunity for personal development.
